Keep it general. Avoid listing valuables on the outside of a box.
2. Review and print
Print at 100% scale (Actual size). Cut each page in half and tape a label to the top and one side of each box. Labels are saved on this device, and reprinting keeps the same box numbers.
How to label moving boxes so unpacking is easy
- Room first. The room name is the biggest text on every label, so the crew can carry each box straight to the right place.
- Number every box. Labels are numbered by room, like KITCHEN 001. Keep the printed box index so you can tell if anything is missing.
- Label two sides. Tape one label on top and one on a side, so you can read it when boxes are stacked.
- Mark fragile and open first boxes. Use these only where they apply, so they still mean something.
- Keep it general. Labels do not show your name or address, and it is smart not to advertise valuables on the outside of a box.

What should I write on moving boxes?
The destination room, a box number, and a short general description of the contents. Add Fragile or Open first only where it applies.
Where should labels go on a moving box?

Do I need special label paper?
No. The labels print on plain US Letter or A4 paper, two per page. Cut the page in half and tape each label to the box.
Will my box numbers change if I print again?
No. Reprinting keeps the same box numbers. Adding a new batch for the same room continues the numbering, for example KITCHEN 006 after KITCHEN 005.
Should I put my address on moving boxes?
It is not needed. The crew delivers to the address on your moving paperwork, and labels work best with just the room, box number, and general contents.
